RE: CEASE AND DESIST — COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT
    Infringing material: [Link to the copy]

Dear [Infringer's name or shop],

1. OWNERSHIP. I am the owner of the copyrighted work described as: [Your original work] (the "Work"), originally published at [Link to your original]. Under 17 U.S.C. § 106, I hold the exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works from the Work.

2. INFRINGEMENT. You are reproducing and/or displaying the Work, or material substantially similar to it, without my authorization at the location above. This constitutes copyright infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 501.

3. DEMANDS. I demand that you, within [7] days of the date of this letter:
   (a) cease all use, reproduction, display, sale and distribution of the Work;
   (b) remove every listing, image, and page containing the Work;
   (c) confirm compliance to me in writing at the email above.

4. PRESERVATION. You are instructed to preserve all records relating to your use of the Work, including sales records, as they may be relevant to any future proceedings.

5. REMEDIES. If you fail to comply, I intend, without further notice, to submit DMCA takedown notices under 17 U.S.C. § 512 to every platform hosting the material, and to pursue all remedies available to me, which may include damages under 17 U.S.C. § 504.

Nothing in this letter waives any of my rights or remedies, all of which are expressly reserved.

Sincerely,

/[Your name or business]/
[Your name or business]

Cease and desist vs. DMCA takedown

A cease and desist letter goes to the infringer, who may ignore it. A DMCA takedown notice goes to the platform hosting the copy, which typically acts on a valid notice to keep its legal safe harbor. Many sellers send both. Get the free DMCA notice template.
